SITUATION OVERVIEW

An energy company was embarking on a multi-faceted parallel construction project.  The project was going to span hundreds of miles, involve hundreds of subcontractors and take a number of years to complete.  To ensure control over all aspects of the project the company also chose to have an owner certified insurance program (OCIP).  Lastly, regulatory requirements were extensive and regulatory compliance was of vital importance.

 

The company needed a comprehensive safety management solution to ensure worker safety, regulatory compliance and to minimize its cost of insurance.

Consistent with eSafety Systems’ standard approach, we began by conducting an assessment to determine the most effective solution for the company’s specific needs. We then partnered with the company to create a tailored safety management framework inclusive of standard operating procedures for enrolling contractors, approving contractor safety plans and ensuring contractor compliance with the safety plans.

 

The technology platform allowed the company to efficiently enroll each contractor into the program and ensure that their safety plans are aligned with company and regulatory requirements.  The mobile functionality provided for efficiency in conducting safety observations and inspections to verify compliance.   Through powerful analytics, streamlined reporting and corrective actions capabilities the company swiftly addressed any outstanding issues. 

Since the start of the program incident rates have been close to zero.
